Steyne Sunken Gardens
At Acre Landscapes, we believe great outdoor spaces can bring people together and that’s just what happened during our recent community project based in Worthing, just down the road from our head office.
We had the privilege of renovating the Sunken Sensory Garden in Steyne Gardens for Sight Support Worthing (SSW), the town’s oldest charity supporting people with visual impairments.
Over two bright, energetic days, our team rolled up their sleeves to work side by side with a friendly group of SSW’s trustees and enthusiastic volunteers. There was plenty of laughter, teamwork and shared pride as we cleared and re-laid the garden, installed a new commercial-grade membrane, refreshed the shingle, and reshaped the borders, giving the gardens a much-needed renovation. A beautiful ‘eye-shaped’ planting border was also created as a symbolic gesture of thanks to SSW and all who give their time to support this project. The result was something truly special and meaningful.
For us, it was more than just a project. It was a reminder of why we love what we do – creating spaces that uplift people, strengthen communities, and leave a lasting mark is at the heart of Acre Landscapes.
